Spirit Loves a Team Player

team work

When we think about a team player, we often think about someone who works well with others — someone who communicates openly, supports the people around them, adapts when needed and contributes towards a shared goal.

These same qualities are incredibly important within a psychic reading. A psychic reading is not a monologue where one person simply delivers information and everyone else listens. It is a collaborative experience involving three key parts of the team: the psychic, the client, and spirit.

Each member of the team has an important role to play, and just like any successful team, the reading tends to flow best when each part of the team is engaged, open and contributing.

The psychic brings their intuitive abilities, experience, sensitivity and ability to interpret the information they receive. This includes listening carefully to spirit, noticing subtle impressions, recognising symbols and translating those messages into language the client can understand. The psychic also holds the space for the reading, helping to guide the conversation, maintain focus and create an environment where communication can happen clearly and respectfully. In many ways, the psychic acts as the bridge between spirit and the client, taking what is received and shaping it into something meaningful and useful.

The client also plays a vital role. They bring their openness, questions, personal understanding and willingness to engage with the reading. A client does not need to know how the reading works in order to participate well, but their presence and openness can make a real difference. When a client is willing to reflect, respond and share relevant context, it helps the psychic understand what is being asked and how the information may apply. The client is not there to wait for answers — they are part of the process, helping to shape the direction of the reading through their energy, curiosity and intention.

Spirit is the third part of the team. Whether they are spirit guides, angels, passed loved ones or other forms of spiritual support, spirit brings through the information, guidance and messages that are meant to be shared. Spirit often works in subtle, symbolic and intuitive ways, offering information that may need to be interpreted rather than simply repeated word for word. Their role is to provide insight, support and direction that can help the client gain clarity, comfort or understanding. Spirit also loves seeing the psychic and client interact positively. It is a bit like a sports team being rewarded for playing well together — when players communicate well, support one another and work together respectfully, they create a stronger connection and a better outcome for the team. In the same way, when the exchange between psychic and client is open, respectful and non-judgemental, spirit responds by offering more specific, clearer and accurate information. In this sense, spirit is not separate from the reading — spirit is an active participant in it.

When all three parts work together, the reading can flow more naturally.

This is why spirit loves a “team player.”

The opposite of being a team player is becoming guarded, resistant or unwilling to take part in the exchange. Much like a sports team or a workplace team, when one person stops communicating or contributing, it becomes more difficult for everyone to work together effectively. It can look like withholding important context, avoiding questions, expecting the psychic to do all the work or approaching the reading with a defensive attitude that makes it difficult to move forward. It also means not contributing towards the shared goal of the reading. When someone is closed off in this way, the reading can feel fragmented, limited or harder to develop because the natural flow of communication has been interrupted.

A meaningful psychic reading is created through collaboration. The psychic, the client and spirit each bring something valuable to the experience. The psychic offers interpretation, structure and intuitive awareness. The client offers openness, context and participation. Spirit offers guidance, insight and the messages.

When everyone is willing to communicate, remain open and work towards the same intention, the connection becomes stronger — allowing guidance to come through in a way that feels natural, supportive and aligned.
